Forklift Driver
A forklift driver is responsible for delivering, moving, loading and unloading a variety of goods in warehouses and on construction sites.
Day-to-day Tasks
- check that your equipment is working safely
- move things on and off vehicles using the fork lift truck and put things onto and take things off trucks, ships, or planes.
- keep in touch with your co-workers using special radios
- sometimes you will need to pick up and move things without machines
- put stuff neatly in storage and shift it around when needed
- write down details about what's being delivered and what's in stock

Industry Qualifications
In most instances, your employer will pay for your training course.
There are different types of forklift trucks. The standard type is as counterbalance forklift truck, which is what more warehouse operator’s use.
A different training course is required for each type of forklift you wish to operate. Completing your training and receiving your certification will only enable you to drive that specific forklift truck — any additional trucks will require you to take an entirely new course.
