Senior Systems Engineer
In this role, you will design, manage and maintain computer server and storage systems throughout the system life cycle helping to make sure that IT systems are effective.
Day-to-day Tasks
- Building and Maintaining Systems:
- Make and look after computer systems and their parts. - Problem Solving:
- Find and fix problems that happen with computers. - Writing Reports and Suggestions:
- Write down what's happening and suggest ways to make it better. - Organizing Fixes and Preventing Problems:
- Plan how to fix things and stop problems from happening. - Helping with Technical Stuff:
- Assist with technical tasks to ensure things are done correctly. - Studying Patterns and Trends:
- Look at how computers are used and find regular patterns or trends. - Planning and Designing Systems:
- Make plans for big and complex computer systems to make sure they work well and are safe.
Skills and Knowledge
- Experience in implementing technological upgrades, improvements and major changes to the IT environment
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills
- Team player
Industry qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information technology, or computer engineering is typically required. Some employers may prefer candidates with a master's degree for more advanced roles.
