Chefs prepare, cook and present food in hotels, bars and restaurants.
Day-to-day Tasks
- creating menus that look good and are healthy
- decide what food is needed, order it, and check it when it arrives
- cook and make food look appealing
- able to handle pressure and work fast so that the food is ready on time, especially when things get busy
- follow the rules: make sure everything is clean and safe, following health and safety and licensing rules
