Dog Walker
Dog walkers take furry friends for regular walks, providing exercise, companionship, and outdoor enjoyment for dogs while giving pet owners peace of mind that their four-legged companions are well cared for during the day.
Day-to-day tasks
- take client’s dogs on walks on a pre-agreed time and on a regular scheduled
- ensure the dogs get sufficient exercise and social interaction
- you can provide pet-sitting services as well
Skills & Knowledge
You'll need:
- the ability to teach people and animals how to do something
- patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- the ability to work on your own
- the ability to work well with others
- excellent verbal communication skills
Industry Qualifications
There are no formal qualifications required for this role. Many dog walkers will likely be self-employed. There are many online courses available in animal wellbeing and you may also want to consider courses for the self-employed, such as bookkeeping and sales.
