Day-to-day Tasks
- shampooing hair
- simple cuts
- mixing hair colour
- replenishing towels and other supplies for the team to use
- cleaning the salon and keeping it tidy
- booking appointments

Industry qualifications
A two-year Apprenticeship course is offered by UCM. To qualify you must be working full-time as a trainee hairdresser. For more information visit www.ucm.ac.im. There are no academic entry requirements but you will need a good understanding of English.
You can also attend a full-time course with UCM starting with an NVQ level 1 in hairdressing and then progressing to Level 2. Each of these courses takes one year to complete.
