Isle of Man Post Office Person
A Post Person collects, sorts and delivers letters, packets and parcels up to 30kg in weight, to homes and businesses on the island.
Day-to-day Tasks:
- sorting mail items for a specific route
- loading and unloading of delivery vans
- driving an IOMPO van to and from points of delivery
- using a hand-held computer device to record customer signatures and or delivery actions
- collecting mail items from post boxes, sub post offices and businesses
Skills and knowledge
- good customer service skills, including clear verbal and written communications
- able to pay attention to detail
- the ability to work on your own
- knowledge of English language
- to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
- be able to lift and carry items up to 30kg in weight
- hold a full, clean driving licence (not on R plates)
This job is physically active and requires working outdoors in all weathers. Full training and a uniform will be provided, including full waterproofs and appropriate footwear.
No industry qualifications are required for this role.
