Department: Education, Sport and Culture (DESC)
Location: Isle of Man Government
What You’ll Do:
- Support the Department by delivering excellent customer service and handling a range of admin tasks. You'll:
- Process applications (e.g. transport, student awards, bursaries, out-of-catchment requests)
- Manage databases and prepare letters
- Process invoices and financial checks
- Help with supply staff recruitment and DBS checks
- Answer phone and email queries
- Support education events and online service rollouts
- Provide admin backup (e.g. reception, post, records management)
What You’ll Need:
Essential Skills:
- Organised, able to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Strong communication (written & verbal)
- Confident using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Great attention to detail
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Calm under pressure and reliable
- Professional and proactive attitude
- Able to deal with sensitive information confidentially
- Willing to work across different locations
Desirable Skills:
- 5 GCSEs at grade C or above
- Office or customer service experience
- Experience in IOM Government
- Knowledge of Government structure and policies
- Interest in continuous professional development
- Isle of Man Worker status
