Purpose of Post

Visit Isle of Man is the official Government agency responsible for the visitor economy on the Isle of Man. In 2022 a 10-year strategy for growth was approved by the Island’s Government and we are now building the team required to deliver this programme by 2032.

To support the CEO and the Chair of the Visit Isle of Man Board in all administration tasks relating to the efficient management of Board meeting and information to Board members.

To carry out diary management tasks for the CEO and Chair as required including making appointments and booking travel arrangements. To support the CEO in ensuring all reports are received and delivered in a timely and professional manner.

To support the Destination Development team and CEO in the development of tourist accommodation as identified in the Our Island, Our Future Isle of Man Visitor Economy Strategy 2022 - 2032 and support a range of business services, schemes and initiatives to
deliver the Department’s business objectives to encourage economic growth.

The purpose of this post is to assist in the development, in conjunction with Destination Development team within the Visit Isle of Man Agency, of a range of business services, schemes and initiatives supporting delivery of the Department’s business objectives to
encourage economic growth.

The post holder will also work closely with other Government Agencies including but not limited to Planning, Building Control, Fire Safety and Environmental Health ensuring the registration of all properties meets all legislation and guidance.

Responsibilities will include ensuring all CRM & DMS systems are up-to-date, taking part in industry specific training deliveries and meetings.

The ultimate goal for the team is to ensure a stakeholder centric approach that keeps Isle of Man tourism aligned with quality and trends, focusing on the economic growth of the tourism sector ensuring the Island remains a competitive destination.

Essentials:

Experience using databases and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Office environment experience, including phone handling and public interaction.
Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
Report writing and presentation abilities.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage a high workload.
Full driving license and flexible work hours.
Strong interpersonal skills for all levels.

Desirables:

Knowledge of the Isle of Man's tourism/hospitality industry.
5 GCSEs including English.
Self-confidence in communication.

Salary & benefits

£26,537 - £32,010 per annum
